Doug Hirai

Doug Hirai serves as Hitachi Capital America’s Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary. He joined Hitachi in July 2016. Before coming to Hitachi, Doug was an Executive Director and Assistant General Counsel for the Trade Finance and Corporate Lending groups of JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A.

Previously, Doug served as GE Capital’s Senior Counsel and Compliance Officer. He began his legal career at Kaye Scholer LLP, where he focused on corporate finance and restructuring transactions. Before entering the field of law, Doug was a loan officer at the Industrial Bank of Japan and completed the NatWest Bank Credit Training Program. He received his JD from Fordham University School of Law and BA degree from Colgate University.

Doug is a member of the New York and New Jersey Bar Associations and is also licensed as Authorized House Counsel in Connecticut.
