Bruce Campbell

General Counsel at Hitachi Rail

Bruce Campbell was appointed General Counsel of Hitachi Rail in June 2021. He is responsible for leading the global Legal & Compliance team, and for providing strategic legal counsel to the CEO and senior leadership team.

Bruce joined Hitachi Rail from General Electric, where he spent 18 years in various business units including Power, Water, and Renewable Energy. He spent five years in Sub Saharan Africa as the General Counsel of GE Africa, and four years in Paris as the General Counsel of GE’s Grid Solutions business. He has worked as an in-house lawyer in multinational industrial companies for most of his career.

A native of Zimbabwe, Bruce has lived in the UK since 1994 and is a Solicitor admitted to practice in England and Wales. He holds law degrees from the University of Cape Town, South Africa and Tulane Law School in New Orleans, USA.
