Vice President Lima Project at Hitachi Rail

Roberto Vitali has extensive work experience in the rail and transportation industry. Roberto is currently serving as the CEO of Hitachi Rail STS España since March 2020. Prior to this role, they held the position of Vice President Lima Project at Hitachi Rail STS starting from August 2015.

Before joining Hitachi Rail STS, Roberto was a Board of Director Member for Metro de Lima Linea 2. Roberto served as a board member for the concessionaire company responsible for the operation and management of Line 2 and a section of Line 4 in Lima, starting from May 2014.

Roberto also held the role of Vice-President New Geographies Sales, focusing on acquiring projects in Latin America and Ex-Soviet countries.

Before their tenure at Ansaldo STS, Roberto worked at Ansaldo Trasporti Sistemi Ferroviari and futron, gaining experience in system engineering.

Roberto Vitali holds a Laurea degree in Structural Civil Engineering from Università di Pavia, which they earned from 1986 to 1994. Smith School of Business, where they obtained an MBA with a focus on Strategy and Financial Engineering, finishing in 2003. Additionally, they had a brief academic visit to Virginia Tech in 1993 to study Aerospace Engineering.
