Alex Shaginian, PhD, MBA has extensive experience in the business and chemical sciences fields. In 2016, they began working at HitGen Inc. as Vice President of Business Development and Chemical Sciences, and was promoted to Senior Director of Business Development and Chemical Sciences in the same year. In 2017, they were promoted again to Director of Chemistry and Strategic Partnering. From 2011 to 2016, they were Co-Founder at ASN Car Wash Chemicals, Inc. Prior to that, they were a Senior Scientist at Ardea Biosciences, Inc., a member of the AstraZeneca Group from 2007 to 2011, and a Principal Scientist at GlaxoSmithKline from 2009 to 2011. From 2005 to 2007, they were a Postdoctoral Research Associate at The Scripps Research Institute, where they developed novel therapeutic agents targeting protein-protein interactions under the guidance of Professor Dale Boger.

Alex Shaginian, PhD, MBA has a long and distinguished educational history. Alex obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Chemistry from Clark University in 1998. Alex then went on to obtain a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Chemistry from Clark University in 1999. From 1999 to 2005, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Organic Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Following this, they were a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Organic/Combinatorial/Biological Chemistry from 2005 to 2007 at Scripps Research. Finally, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and Entrepreneurship from Babson F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business in 2015.
