Principal Engineer at HiveWatch

Bryan Rank has a diverse range of work experiences spanning nearly three decades. Bryan most recently worked at HiveWatch as a Principal Engineer, starting in 2022. Prior to that, they were a Founding Member at SiteWhere, an open-source platform for the Internet of Things, from 2009 onwards.

In 2020, Bryan joined Canonical as an IoT Field Engineer, where they worked until 2021. From 2016 to 2020, they served as a Senior Staff Architect at Current, powered by GE, where they were involved in various projects, including porting the Tridium Niagara Framework and conducting technology evaluations for utility charging platforms.

Earlier in their career, Bryan held roles such as Consulting Solution Architect at DigitalRoute (2012-2015) and Convergys (2012), where they worked with network operators on policy and charging solutions. Bryan also worked as a Senior Solutions Architect at Volubill (2008-2011), contributing to sales and managing operations for key operators in North and South America.

Bryan's work experience also includes being the CTO and VP of Operations at Cadtel Systems (2005-2008), where they developed a framework for telecommunications network operators, and serving as the Director of Business Development at Intec Telecom Systems (1997-2004), where they implemented network protocols and developed solutions using CSG's framework.

Bryan's career began at the Georgia Institute of Technology, College of Computing, where they worked as a Systems Support Specialist II (1994-1997) while pursuing their graduate degree.

Bryan Rank obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where they studied from 1985 to 1992. Later, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, completing their studies from 1994 to 1997.
