Maikol Porras Morales

Maikol Porras Morales currently serves as Alcalde for the Municipalidad de Sarchí since May 2020 and holds the position of Oficial de Fortalecimiento de Sociedad Civil for Hivos since July 2017, where also coordinates the Open Contracting program for Latin America. Prior to these roles, Maikol Porras Morales was a candidate for the Alcaldía de Sarchí with Alianza por Sarchí from September 2019 to May 2020. Maikol Porras Morales co-founded the Asociación Centro Ciudadano de Estudios para una Sociedad Abierta (ACCESA) in November 2014, serving as Secretary of the Board until March 2017. Additional experience includes consulting for the Organización de los Estados Americanos and the Open Government Partnership, as well as project management and coordination roles at the Secretaría Técnica de Gobierno Digital and the Consejo Nacional para Investigaciones Cientificas y Tecnologicas. Maikol Porras Morales earned a Licenciatura en Administracion Publica, Ciencias Economicas from the Universidad de Costa Rica UCR from 2003 to 2007.
