Will Janssen

Will Janssen has extensive experience in business development and program management, currently serving as the Director of Business Development at Hivos since August 2007, where responsible for the global management of the Business Development Unit and resource mobilization efforts. Janssen also held the position of Director of the Open Society Programme, overseeing a budget of 25 million Euro annually and managing a team of 40 staff focused on transparency, accountability, and women's empowerment. Previously, Janssen was the Regional Director for East Africa, where management included office setup and program development across multiple countries. Prior roles include Team Manager at Foundation DOEN, overseeing sustainable development programs with a management budget of approximately 15 million Euro, and Director of Programmes at Mama Cash, managing grants for various regions with a budget of around 1.5 million Dutch guilders. Academic qualifications include a Master’s degree in Social Cultural Science and Social Economic History from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and Radboud University, respectively.
