Linda Opati-Coulson has a diverse work experience in the legal field, with a focus on intellectual property. Linda started their career as an Intellectual Property and Legal Research Assistant at ICIPE - International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology in 2005. Linda then worked as a State Counsel for Criminal Prosecutions at the Attorney General's Office from 2007 to 2008. Following this, they joined Kaplan & Stratton Advocates as an Intellectual Property Associate in 2008. In 2009, Linda joined the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) as an Intellectual Property Lawyer & Legal Counsel, where they worked until 2019. Linda'smost recent role is as the Regional Legal Counsel Africa at HJF Medical Research International, Inc., a position they held from 2019 until 2022. Currently, Linda serves as the Director of Legal Services Africa at HJF Medical Research International, Inc.

Linda Opati-Coulson attended the University of California, Davis in 2018, where they studied Business Law & Technology Transfer. In 2006 to 2007, they pursued a Master's Degree in Intellectual Property at the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika. Linda also completed WIPO IP courses in Intellectual Property Law, focusing on Patents, Trademarks, Copyright, Internet Law, e-commerce, and Plant Variety.
