Liz O.

CIO at H&K International

Liz O. has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning various industries and organizations. Liz currently holds the position of Cluster Board Member at Cyber Ireland and serves as an ECSO Ambassador (Ireland) at the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO). In their previous roles, they worked at H+K International as both a CIO and a CTO. Liz also gained experience at Evros Technology Group in the Service Delivery & Strategy department. Prior to that, they worked as the Head of Security Operations & Response at Ward Solutions, where they oversaw the design, build, and support of IT infrastructure and application projects for national and international clients. Earlier in their career, they served in the Irish Defence Forces, specializing in program and project management. Liz also held roles at U.S. European Command, Defence Forces of Ireland, NATO, and NATO.

Liz O. began their education in 1996 at the University of Limerick, where they studied Information Technology & Telecommunications. Liz completed their B.Tech ITT degree in 2000. In 2001, Liz attended Global Knowledge to study Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices. From 1991 to 1993, they pursued City & Guilds Diplomas in Airframe Maintenance and Tech Drawing at Air Corps College / City & Guilds. Liz then enrolled at Maynooth University from 1993 to 1995, where they focused on Military Studies and earned their degree.

In 2008, Liz attended the Military College Irish DF to complete the Junior Command & Staff Course in the military field.

Apart from their formal education, Liz obtained additional certifications as well. In 2016, they earned the Certified Information Security Manager® (CISM) certification from ISACA. In 2017, Liz completed the IBM Security Technical Sales Academy from IBM. Liz also earned the Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) certification from ISACA, although the specific month and year of completion are not mentioned.

Liz has also engaged in professional development outside of traditional education. Liz participated in the WXN Mentoring program in 2017. Additionally, Liz completed the ITIL foundation course and studied Project Management at the University of Limerick, although the specific timeframes for these activities are not provided.
