Sonja Ouwerkerk

Sonja Ouwerkerk has extensive experience in coastal, river, and delta consultancy, currently serving as the Department Head and Consultant at HKV Lijn in Water since October 2010. Prior to this role, Sonja worked as a consultant on coastal, river, and offshore projects at Witteveen+Bos from October 2004 to September 2010 and held the position of Project Engineer in hydraulic engineering and geotechnics at Delft University of Technology from October 2003 to August 2004. Sonja's career began with a graduate student role at HKV Lijn in Water, focused on the impact of morphology on flood level prediction, and an internship at Royal Haskoning. Sonja holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Delft University of Technology, complemented by studies at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and secondary education at Johannes Calvijn.
