Xinru Liu is a seasoned design technologist and architectural designer currently employed at HLW, specializing in custom AR/VR solutions and AI integrations across design phases. As Design Director at Rural Urban Lab, Xinru leads innovative projects that address urban challenges. Previous positions include Architectural Designer at GF55 Architects and Studio Instructor at Boston Architectural College. Xinru's notable contributions include project management and design for the Song Dynasty Incense Exhibit in Hong Kong and the Li Shijia House Renovation in Fujian, China, as part of a collaboration with Studio Atlas. Xinru's foundational experience started at Marpillero Pollak Architects, where roles ranged from Junior Designer to Intern. Academically, Xinru holds a Master’s degree in Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design, a Bachelor of Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design, and has participated in cross-registration and exchange programs at MIT and Technical University of Munich, respectively.
