Jennifer Thompson

Director of HR and Social Enterprises at HAP

Jennifer Thompson has over twenty years of experience in Human Resources and Operations. Jennifer began their career in 1996 as a Manager at the YMCA, where they were responsible for program development for 225 children, hiring and managing staff of 50, developing and implementing an annual budget of 670k, and creating and carrying out a marketing plan. In 2004, they became a Consultant at Mefford, Knutson & Associates, Inc., where they worked with individuals interested in starting or expanding their own business. In 2012, they became an Office Administrator at Spectrum Property Management Company, where they managed office operations including accounts payable, purchase orders, purchasing, office technology and weekly reporting. In 2014, they became a Human Resources Manager at Committee Films. From 2015-2017, they were the Director of Operations at Neighborhood Energy Connection, where they facilitated and executed a successful merger of NEC and CEE, and the spinoff of Hourcar into its own 501c3. Jennifer also managed daily business operations in the areas of Human Resources, Accounting, Payroll and facilities management. In 2017, they became the Director of HR and Social Enterprises at HAP (Hmong American Partnership).

Jennifer Thompson attended the University of Minnesota from 1991 to 1996, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Education.
