Diane Newton, PMP, currently serves as Vice President and Senior Project Engineer at HNTB since September 2017, where expertise in project management and systems engineering has been applied to the Smart Columbus project, a winner of the 2016 Smart City Challenge by the United States Department of Transportation. Prior to this role, Diane held the position of Associate Vice President and Senior Transportation Analyst at Leidos from September 2013 to September 2017, focusing on promoting efficient transportation methods. Diane's earlier experience includes serving as Project Manager at SAIC from October 2003 to September 2013, where skills in systems engineering and operations research were developed, and as Research Fellow at the Logistics Management Institute from July 2000 to October 2003, conducting transportation and logistics research for various government departments. Diane holds an M.S. in System Engineering and Operations Research from The George Washington University and a B.S. in Marine Transportation from the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
