Don Hammond is a highly experienced geotechnical engineer with extensive expertise in managing geotechnical engineering services for significant infrastructure projects, including major river crossings and complex movable bridges. Since joining HNTB in August 2006, Don has served as Sr. Technical Advisor, overseeing the work of junior engineers, while previously holding roles such as Sr. Project Engineer and Geotechnical Project Engineer, where responsibilities included managing subsurface explorations and designing foundations. Prior experience includes a position as Staff Engineer at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, where critical reviews of technical submittals from hydroelectric project owners were conducted. Don's career began at Harding Lawson and has included roles at Terracon and Alan Kropp and Associates. Education includes a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Kansas State University.
