Thomas Shea is currently a Trustee at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Prior to that, they were Head Lifeguard at Weston Parks and Recreation from June 2015 to August 2022. In this role, they were responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons and co-workers, as well as performing facility maintenance of the pool, pond, and grounds. Thomas also managed lifeguard affairs and scheduling, and received feedback and questions from visitors. Shea worked closely with the Weston Parks and Rec administrators in executing daily affairs and weekly special events.
Thomas Shea has a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Thomas is also certified in Leadership from the same school. Thomas has worked as a teacher for grades 8-12 at Wooster School and for grades 3-7 at The Southport School. In addition, they have certification in COVID-19 Contact Tracing from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, in Medical Preparedness & Response to Dynamic Incidents from DEHMS Region 1 Emergency Planning Team, in Mental Health First Aid USA Certification from the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, in Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) from Weston Volunteer EMS, in Lifeguard from the American Red Cross, and in Surf Rescue from the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management.
