Byron Bonora

Manager, Hockey Operations, Under-17 Head Scout at Hockey Canada

Byron Bonora has a diverse work experience in various roles within the sports industry. Currently, they are the Manager of Hockey Operations and Under-17 Head Scout at Hockey Canada, where they are responsible for identifying players from CHL and CJHL teams to represent Canada at the national level. Prior to this, they worked as the Manager of the Pro Shop at South West Arena Society, overseeing its day-to-day operations and implementing marketing strategies. Byron also served as a Scout for the Spokane Chiefs, overseeing Alberta area scouts and scouting players from Bantam AAA, Major/Minor Midget AAA, Jr. A, and WHL teams. Byron gained experience as an On-ice Skills Coach at STIX Hockey Academy, planning and conducting practices for different age groups. Additionally, Byron worked as a General Administrator and Business Development professional at C.A.E. Safety Consultants, performing administrative tasks and coordinating paperwork. Byron has also held coaching positions in hockey teams such as AC Avalanche, Calgary Bronks, Canada West, Brooks Storm, and Foothills Bisons, where they focused on player development and provided coaching and mentoring. Earlier in their career, Byron worked as an Electrical Apprentice at Mario's Electric, where they gained experience in electrical installations and wiring.

Byron Bonora attended Mount Royal University from 2008 to 2012, where they pursued a Bachelor of Business degree with a focus on Sports and Recreation. The field of study is not specified.
