Heather Bates has worked in a variety of roles since 2008. Heather started their career as an Office Associate at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2008. In 2014, they moved to the Nebraska Department of Banking and Finance as a Staff Assistant. In 2016, they joined MyITpros as a Helpdesk and IT Intern. Most recently, in 2019, they began working as a Service Desk Engineer at HOCS Consulting Inc.

Heather Bates attended Dana College from 2007 to 2008, where they studied Accounting and Business/Management. Heather then attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha from 2008 to 2010, where they also studied Accounting and Business/Management. In 2016, they obtained the Foundations of IT Security: Core Concepts certification from LinkedIn, and the CompTIA A+ ce certification from CompTIA.
