Thomas Hackl

Thomas Hackl has a diverse and extensive work experience. Thomas currently holds the position of Chief Operating Officer at hofer powertrain, starting in October 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President of Engineering & Advanced Engineering at the same company from March 2021 to October 2022.

Before joining hofer powertrain, Thomas worked at MAGNA POWERTRAIN AG as the Director of Electric Drive Systems from May 2018 to February 2021. Thomas also held the position of Director of Basic Innovation at Magna Powertrain - Engineering Center Steyr GmbH & Co KG from July 2015 to April 2018.

In 2013, Thomas joined AVL, where they served as the Vice President of Commercial Powertrain Systems Offroad & Tractors from June 2014 to June 2015. Thomas also worked as a Business Field Manager from October 2013 to June 2014.

Earlier in their career, Thomas worked at hofer AG, where they held various roles, including Technischer Leiter/Prokurist from September 2007 to September 2013, Business Unit Manager Simulation und Systemanalyse from September 2006 to September 2007, and Head of Simulation and System Analysis from April 2004 to September 2007.

Thomas started their professional journey at ZF Friedrichshafen as an Entwicklungsingenieur from September 2002 to March 2004.

Thomas Hackl has a strong educational background in engineering. Thomas earned a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics from Technical University Graz. In addition, they also studied at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore during the same period. Thomas Hackl further pursued their education at Technische Universität Braunschweig, where they obtained a Doctor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering. Thomas'seducational focus throughout their studies has been in the field of Machinesbau.
