Hector Martignon

Adjunct Associate Professor at Hofstra University

Hector Martignon is an accomplished musician and educator, currently serving as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Hofstra University and an Adjunct Professor for Jazz Composition and Improvisation at Hochschule für Musik und Theater München. As the founder and band leader of the FOREIGN AFFAIR Quintet, Hector has recorded five solo albums, with two recent works, REFUGEE and SECOND CHANCE, receiving Grammy nominations in the Latin Jazz category. Hector also teaches jazz improvisation at the University of Education in Ludwigsburg and works as a Jazz and Classical piano teacher at both the Kaufman Center and 92 Street Y, guiding students in bridging the two genres. With a strong educational background, including a Master's degree from Manhattan School of Music and a Bachelor's degree from Hochschule Für Musik Freiburg, Hector has extensive experience performing and teaching internationally.
