Richard Jones is an accomplished academic and finance professional with extensive experience in accounting and financial reporting. Currently serving as an Associate Professor of Accounting at Hofstra University since September 1997, Richard teaches a range of accounting courses at the Executive MBA, MBA, and undergraduate levels, while also contributing to the field through technical writing on financial accounting and IFRS. Prior to this role, Richard held various positions at Chemical Banking Corporation, including Divisional VP of Finance and Controller, overseeing multiple professional staff, and VP in Accounting Policy, where expertise in asset securitization was developed. Early career experience includes work at the Financial Accounting Standards Board as an Assistant Project Manager and roles at Abex Corporation and Arthur Andersen & Company. Richard holds a Doctorate in Accounting from Rutgers University - Newark and a B.S. in Accounting from Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business.
