Samuel Ramos is a trustee at Hofstra University and was previously employed at Goldman Sachs and Sullivan & Cromwell LLP. Samuel has experience in insurance, securities regulation, and corporate finance.

Ramos began their career at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in 1992 as an associate. Samuel was primarily responsible for corporate finance transactions for foreign issuers. In 1998, they transitioned to Goldman Sachs where they served as the managing director and associate general counsel for the Goldman Sachs Reinsurance Group. In this role, they advised on all aspects of managing and operating regulated entities in multiple jurisdictions.

In 2013, Ramos left Goldman Sachs to pursue other opportunities. Samuel became a trustee at Hofstra University, where they use their experience and knowledge to help the university run smoothly and efficiently.

Ramos received a JD from Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, an MS in finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business Executive Education, and a BS in electrical engineering from Cornell University.
