Alex Robertson

Alex Robertson currently serves as the Director of Business Operations at Hofy. His responsibilities include finance, operations, organizational design and strategic planning. Alex joined Hofy from Oyo UK where he was responsible for P+L of franchise business in Scotland, North Ireland and North East England. There he led strategy, teams and performance management of sales, onboarding, operations and customer service. He led cross functional initiatives with central operations in the UK and India to build stable and reliable remote operations processes. Alex, being the adaptable strategic leader, took a central role in pivoting business throughout the COVID-19 response. There he analyzed and improved city performance to build Uber’s fastest growing city launch at that point. He helped support global platform improvements and product rollouts. He also designed and managed weekly incentive spending to stimulate and drive growth in the business while bringing the city to profitability and completely removing incentives in 12 weeks. As a hub manager at Uber his role entailed managing key financial performance metrics for the Greenlight org, driving significant savings against budget. He also managed Greenlight property strategy and building facilities management functions into Operations. Additionally he was the Head of Greenlight UK & Ireland where he developed better cross functional integration between siloed teams in different parts of the UK and EMEA business. Alex had P+L responsibility for the organization and responsible for budget planning.

Prior to Uber he spent his early career at various hyper-growth startups with experience in business development, account management and consultancy work. Alex is an accomplished Operations leader with organizational development competencies with 8+ years of successful remote working.

Alex obtained his degree in BSC Biological Sciences Hons Infectious Disease from University of Edinburgh.
