Jose Valdivia

Jose Valdivia serves as the Chief Legal Officer and Partner at Hogan Lovells since January 2002, with a focus on project development & finance, cross-border joint ventures, and mergers & acquisitions. Valdivia co-chaired the Latin American Practice Group from June 2010 to June 2020 and was part of the Americas Corporate Leadership Team from 2008 to 2010, as well as the National Diversity Committee from 2006 to 2009. Previously, Valdivia worked as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Miami School of Law, teaching Project Development and Finance in Latin America, and held the position of Partner at Steel Hector & Davis LLP, specializing in International Tax and Project Development. Valdivia's early career includes roles as an Associate at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP and a Public Accountant at Coopers & Lybrand. Valdivia holds a Master of Laws in Taxation from New York University School of Law, a Doctor of Law from Georgetown University Law Center, and a BBA in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame.
