Agnes Schaafsma is a dedicated professional in the field of social work and international development, currently serving as a Docent at Inholland University of Applied Sciences since September 2024. Previously, Agnes held multiple roles at Tear Netherlands, including International Program Officer, Project Leader, and Fragile States Coordinator from February 2018 to September 2024. Prior experience includes serving as a Programme Officer at Netherlands Leprosy Relief from September 2013 to February 2018, and a Teacher of Social Work at Haagse Hogeschool Den Haag for a brief period in 2017. Agnes also worked extensively in various capacities with Help a Child from May 2007 to September 2013, focusing on community development in Rwanda, Burundi, and Congo, and served as a Program Advisor for ZOA Refugee Care between 2000 and 2007 in Cambodia and Ethiopia. Academically, Agnes holds Master's degrees in Development Studies from Radboud University and Cultural Anthropology from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
