Jochem Alferink is the founder of ExMaterials, a studio dedicated to sustainable architecture, since January 2018. In addition to this role, Jochem serves as a docent at Hogeschool van Amsterdam starting in September 2021. Prior experience includes positions as an architect at studio PROTOTYPE from November 2018 to September 2021 and at RAU from October 2016 to November 2018. Previously, Jochem worked as a BIM specialist at KUBUS BV for a brief period, and as a junior architect at Spierings&Swart Architectenbureau and a full-time intern at Rijnboutt Architecten. Jochem holds a Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) in Architecture, Building, and Planning from Eindhoven University of Technology, alongside a Master's degree from Beijing University of Technology and a Bachelor's degree from the same institution.
