Richard Saunders has a strong background in engineering, with experience in several prominent companies. Richard started their career in 2004 with KSi Structural Engineers as a Project Engineer, where they provided consultation services for commercial building projects and was involved in three-dimensional computer modeling, analysis, and production of contract documents. In 2009, they joined Clark Western Design as a Project Manager and Professional Engineer, where they focused on the design and detailing of cold-formed steel building projects. After that, in 2011, they moved to T.Y. Lin International as a Structural Engineer, responsible for the review and design of commercial building projects in the Southeast. Currently, Richard is working at HOK as a Principal and Engineering Practice Leader, demonstrating their leadership and expertise in the field.
Richard Saunders holds a Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering from Virginia Tech and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Richard also possesses the LEED Green Associate certification from the USGBC. Richard is a Licensed Professional Engineer in AL, GA, KY, KS, NC, SC, TN, and TX, and they are a Licensed Structural Engineer in IL, HI, and GA.
