Abishek Bhuvanaratnam is a Clinical Informatician at Toronto Metropolitan University, specializing in research on Primary Care Electronic Medical Record Data and involved in the non-profit project PREVENT, aimed at diabetes prevention through lifestyle changes. Previously, Abishek served as a Junior Technical Aid at North York General Hospital, contributing to various research projects, and held the position of President and Director of Finance for the Indian Students' Association at the University of Toronto Scarborough. Abishek has also completed an undergraduate research thesis under Dr. Nirusha Thavarajah and worked as a Junior Market Analyst at Husky Technologies, alongside experience in clinical research at University Health Network and other positions, including a lifeguard and swim instructor. Abishek is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Immunology at the University of Toronto while also holding a degree in Musical Performance from The Royal Conservatory of Music.

Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital is Canada’s largest children’s rehabilitation hospital. Our vision is to create a world of possibility for kids with disability. Holland Bloorview serves about 7,000 children each year, with about 600 inpatient admissions and 52,000 outpatient visits. Holland Bloorview is a world-class teaching hospital fully affiliated with the University of Toronto. We train future health-care specialists in the field of childhood disability.
