Shawn Rutkowski

Shawn Rutkowski, SPHR, has a diverse and extensive work experience in human resources. Shawn started their career in 1999 as a Human Resources Generalist at Benteler Automotive, where they gained experience in labor relations and negotiation.

In 2004, Shawn moved on to Federal-Mogul, where they served as a Human Resources Manager. During their tenure, they successfully negotiated a labor agreement with the UAW and implemented various employee safety improvements.

From 2006 to 2014, Shawn worked at Hillshire Brands, holding multiple roles including Senior Manager - Human Resources, Senior Manager Talent Acquisition, and Human Resources Manager. In these positions, they focused on business partnering, talent acquisition, employee relations, and labor negotiations.

In 2014, Shawn joined Rupari Food Services as the Director of Human Resources, where they played a key role in transforming the organization and creating their first salaried employee handbook.

Since 2017, Shawn has been with Dwyer Instruments, Inc. as a Senior Human Resources Manager. Here, they managed human resource activities at various locations and led projects to enhance succession planning and improve the HR information system.

Currently, Shawn is the Human Resources Director at Holland LP, a position they transitioned to in April 2021. In this role, they oversee HR operations and strategic initiatives.

Shawn Rutkowski, SPHR has a Master's degree in Professional Studies in Human Resource Management from the University of Connecticut. They also hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Grand Valley State University. Currently, Shawn is pursuing an MBA with a focus on an undecided field of study at Indiana University Northwest. In addition to their education, Shawn obtained the Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) in 2017.
