Gerben Dekker has extensive work experience in the field of software engineering. Gerben started their career as a Software Engineer in Industrial Automation at hollander techniek in September 2006. After working in that role for four years, they transitioned to the position of Lead Software Engineer (Smart Industry) in January 2011. Gerben also has experience working as a Software Engineer for DJM variable data printing, where they completed a graduation project from January 2006 to July 2006.

Gerben Dekker's education history includes earning a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Automation from HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht (Hogeschool Utrecht) from 2003 to 2006. Prior to that, from 1999 to 2003, they attended ROC A12 Ede and obtained an MBO BOL4 degree in Automation & Power Systems. Gerben'searliest educational experience was from 1995 to 1999 at Christiaan Huygens, where they completed their VBO degree in Electrical Engineering.
