Vishal Soni has an extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Vishal started their career as a Software Engineer at Cisco Systems in 2000. Vishal then worked as an Architecture Design Engineer at IBM in 2001. In 2002, Vishal worked as a Software Engineer at Honeywell Research Labs. From 2003 to 2007, they worked at the University of Michigan as a Graduate Student/Research Assistant and also served as a Graduate Student Instructor. In 2006, they had an internship as a Quantitative Research Intern at Citadel Investment Group L.L.C. After that, Vishal joined Citadel LLC in 2007 as a Quantitative Risk & Portfolio Analyst until 2014. In 2014, they took a brief period of leave at Garden Leave. Following that, Vishal joined KKR Prisma as a Portfolio Manager from 2014 to 2016. Finally, Vishal is currently working at Holocene Advisors, LP as the Chief Risk Officer starting from September 2016.
Vishal Soni holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, which they completed from 1997 to 2002. Vishal then pursued a PhD in Artifical Intelligence/Statistical Learning at the University of Michigan, which was completed except for the dissertation as of 2007.
