Lone Kjær Hein was trained as a nurse in Hillerød and later also trained as a health nurse. For 12 years she lived in Vesterbro and worked, among other things. as a health nurse at Ydre Nørrebro. Back in West Jutland, Lone has since the year 2000 worked as a health nurse in Holstebro Municipality, where she has especially put effort into the work for sexual health among young people and been a project manager on several new initiatives in this area. This made Holstebro and her nationally known. In 2009, she was presented with the Danish Nurses 'Council's prize, the Kirsten Stallknecht Prize, named after the Nurses' Council's longtime chairwoman. The prize is awarded to a nurse who has used her freedom of expression to focus on ethical and professional issues in the public debate, e.g. in areas that may be taboo.
Lone Member of Holstebro City Council from the beginning of 2022 for the Radical Left. In the city council, she is a member of the Culture and Leisure Committee and the Children and Family Committee. She is also the 1st deputy to the regional council in the Central Jutland Region.
