Lucia Hassell

Lucia Hassell has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the education and technology fields. Lucia began their career as a Graduate Assistant and Resident Assistant at Howard University from 2003 to 2007. Lucia then worked as a Technology Teacher and Web Administrator at Meridian Public Charter School from 2007 to 2014. During this time, they developed and implemented a foundational curriculum and engaged in integrative teaching.

In 2014, Lucia joined Holton-Arms School, where they held multiple positions. Lucia started as an Academic Technology Coordinator, advocating for the possibilities of technology and advancing teaching and learning. Lucia later became the Director of Technology Integration, leading teachers and the Academic Technology Team in implementing meaningful technology in a K-12 environment. Additionally, Lucia served as the Dean of Middle School Student Life & Activities, overseeing co-curricular and extra-curricular programs and fostering cross-divisional collaboration.

From 2017 to 2022, Lucia worked at Healthy Families GROW as an Online Instructor and Instructional Designer, and at Cult of Pedagogy as a Technology Specialist from 2021 onwards. In 2020, they also served as an Online Instructor for the Association of Independent Maryland & DC Schools, presenting synchronous content, communicating with students, and contributing to curriculum development.

Lucia Hassell holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Computer Based Information Systems from Howard University, which they completed between 2001 and 2006. Lucia is currently pursuing a Master of Education (MEd) degree in Educational/Instructional Technology at Webster University, with an expected completion in 2025. Additionally, they have acquired certifications as a Google Certified Educator and a Microsoft Office Specialist.
