Danna Markland

Danna Markland is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in leadership roles within various business associations and governmental communication. Currently serving as the CEO of the Home Building Association of Richmond since June 2017, Danna has represented over 500 businesses while advocating for regulatory and legislative matters affecting land use and residential construction, earning numerous awards including the "Executive Officer of the Year" in 2019. Prior experience includes presidency at the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce and program management at the Greater Richmond Chamber, along with roles in government communications as Deputy Press Secretary for U.S. Senators Joe Biden and Ted Kaufman. Danna holds a Master of Science in Strategic Public Relations from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Science in Communications & Rhetorical Studies from Syracuse University.
