Lydia Bell has a diverse work experience in various nonprofit organizations. Lydia started their career in 2000 at New Directions Housing Corporation as a Program Manager, overseeing Neighborhood Initiatives for six years. In 2006, they joined Leadership Louisville Center as a Program Manager for Bingham Fellows. Afterward, they worked as the Director of Development at The Center for Women and Families for a year. In 2009, Lydia became the Director of Fund Development & Communications at The Housing Partnership Inc. Lydia then moved to LKB Consulting LLC as a Nonprofit Consultant from February 2014 to November 2014. In the same year, they joined Home of the Innocents as the Vice President of Resource Development. Over the years, they held several executive roles, including Senior Vice President of Resource Development and Executive Vice President of Engagement.

Lydia Bell obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Literature from the University of North Carolina Asheville, with studies lasting from 1988 to 1992. Lydia then pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in English Language and Literature, General from The University of Memphis, where they studied from 1992 to 1994. Additionally, they received a Masters of Science in Library and Information Science from the University of Kentucky, completing their studies in 1997.

Serving more than 10,000 children and their families last year, programs include residential and community-based clinical treatment services, crisis and intervention services, therapeutic foster care and adoption services, and a pediatric convalescent center for children living with complex medical conditions.
