Garrett Smestad

Garrett Smestad has a wide range of work experience. In 2012, they were a summer intern at Maron Structure Technologies, where they performed quality assurance reviews of a prototype web application. In 2013, they worked as an Accountant at Kennicott Brothers Company, where they ensured the accuracy and completeness of the company's accounting systems. From 2014 to 2016, they worked at RSM US LLP as a Risk Advisory Services Associate, where they ensured legal compliance by meeting with clients and reviewing their accounting systems. In 2016, they attended the Turing School of Software & Design, a seven-month training program that taught him the necessary skills to build professional web applications. From 2017 to present, they have worked at Homebot as a Full Stack Engineer and Senior Full Stack Engineer. During this time, they have gained experience in a range of technologies including Ruby on Jets, ElasticSearch, AWS Lambda, and DynamoDB. Garrett has also been responsible for writing the code to handle the ingestion of data from 3rd party integrations via a serverless application as well as writing the API logic and documentation.

Garrett Smestad received their Bachelor of Accounting Science, B.B.A. from Western Illinois University in 2014. In 2016, they attended the Turing School of Software & Design, where they completed a Web Application Development course.
