Julie A. Heinig started their work experience in 1998 as a Senior Forensic DNA Analyst at the Office of Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner, Cuyahoga County Regional Forensic Science Laboratory. Julie A. held this position until August 2002. In 2003, they joined DNA Diagnostics Center as the Assistant Laboratory Director of Forensics. Julie A. later became the Laboratory Director of Forensic Services/DNA Technical Leader in September 2013.
Julie A. Heinig has an extensive education history. Julie A. began their academic journey at the University of Toronto Scarborough from 1983 to 1988, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Julie then pursued a Master of Science degree in Zoology at the University of Toronto from 1989 to 1992. Building upon this foundation, they further specialized in Anatomy and Cell Biology, earning a PhD from the University of Toronto between the years 1992 and 1998.
