Job P. Lindsen

Head of Data Science & Analytics at Homeprotect Home Insurance

Job P. Lindsen has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. They started their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Groningen from 2003 to 2007. They then worked as a Research Associate at Goldsmiths, University of London, where they focused on computational neuroscience and the processing of statistical regularities in the human brain. During this time, they also conducted research on decision-making and brain activity, funded by the Japanese government. From 2013 to 2014, Job worked as a Lecturer in Applied Statistics and Research Methods at Goldsmiths. They then took a career break to pursue personal and professional development, including gaining skills in data science, Python, and SQL, as well as working as a Chef de Partie at a 5-star hotel. After their break, Job worked as an Independent Consultant, where they conducted data analysis, statistical modeling, and data visualization using R and SQL for various projects. They also co-wrote a white paper on using cost models to improve cost decisions. Following this, Job joined Ladbrokes as a Data and Insight Analyst, where they implemented a product preference segmentation using k-means clustering and built predictive models for email campaign optimization using R and Python. Currently, Job is working as the Head of Data Science & Analytics at Homeprotect Home Insurance, overseeing a team and utilizing their expertise in data science and analytics.

Job P. Lindsen obtained a Master's Degree in Experimental Psychology (with a Minor in Applied Statistics) from the University of Groningen. In addition to this, Job attended the City, University of London in 2015 to gain an understanding of SQL and relational databases with Oracle. In the same year, Job also pursued a course in Data Science at General Assembly.
