Sandro Batista has a long and varied work experience. In 2012, they co-founded and became Managing Partner of Focus BC, a Google Cloud Premier Partner for the EMEA market delivering solutions worldwide. In 2018, they became Director of the Founder Institute, the world's largest early-stage accelerator. In 2020, they co-founded Mapify IoT, an end-to-end platform to manage and process real-time geospatial data and generate real-time insights, and HOMETAINMENT, an immersive entertainment platform. In 2021, they joined the Advisory Board of Women in Tech - Global Movement, a non-profit organization on a mission to close the gender gap and help women embrace technology. In 2022, they co-founded WeHelpUkraine.org, a platform to help Ukrainian refugees find support worldwide. In 2016, they became a Strategic Consultant for the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction. From 2004 to 2008, they were a Teacher in the post-graduation and advanced training for executives in the areas of Marketing & Business Intelligence and Marketing Analytics at Universidade Europeia. From 2004 to 2006, they were Technology Development Strategy Director, CEO - Research, Development and Innovation, and CTO - Chief Technology Officer at Esri Portugal.

Sandro Batista's education history includes a Graduate degree in Geographic Engineering from Universidade de Coimbra from 1997 to 2003, a Graduate degree in Applied Math & Computer Science from Universidade do Porto from 1996 to 1997, an Executive Program in Innovation Management from IMD in 2008, an Executive Education in Futures, Strategic Design & Innovation from ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics & Management in 2020, and a PMO from PMO Consulting in 2007. Additionally, they have obtained certifications from LinkedIn, University of Maryland, Google, Esri, and Microsoft. These include Scrum: Advanced from LinkedIn in 2022, Product Management from University of Maryland in 2022, Google Cloud Big Data and Machine Learning from Google in 2019, Google Cloud Platform from Google in 2016, Google Maps for Work from Google in 2013, Esri Associate Certified from Esri in 2010, and Microsoft Certified Professional from Microsoft in 2008.
