Hometown Workforce

We use technology to solve what most consider 2 of the biggest problems in America, worker shortage and contractor reliability. Our goal is to organize the absolutely chaotic $650+ billion home service industry but our tech would work for any industry that can pre-price and pre-time their services. (catering, event planning, etc.)PITCH: Need anywork done around the house? If so, would you be willing to deposit funds for the service into escrow and only release it if the contractor shows up when you schedule and goes out of their way to do a good job? Nearly everyone says yes to this because it guarantees reliability. Here's how it works, contractors create listings on our Amazon-style marketplace that defines a price and a time for each service they offer. Consumers then order these services like products by depositing funds into escrow and picking an opening on the contractor's work calendar. After the work’s complete they release the funds. Not only does this technology provide consumers with true on-demand access to services but it also runs the contractor's entire business. It provides them jobs, manages their schedule and ensures they get paid. Add a non-profit training program that pays people to learn a trade and you have solved both problems, worker shortage and reliability. Average people get a successful business doing what they want and this business gives us the leverage to enforce compliance. All reliable contractors including myself are backed up for weeks, this is the definition of product market fit. Imagine a company that churns out reliable contractors like Ford churns out pickup trucks.
