Science Facilitator at Homeward Bound Projects

Cassandra Brooks is an accomplished professional with significant experience in marine science and policy. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado Boulder since 2017, Cassandra also works as a Science Facilitator for Homeward Bound Projects and holds the position of Deputy Chief Officer for the Standing Committee on the Antarctic Treaty System with the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research. As a member of the leadership team at Ocean Visions since January 2021, Cassandra contributes to significant initiatives in ocean conservation. Expertly trained through a PhD candidacy at Stanford University in Environment and Resources, Cassandra's research has focused on international ocean policy, particularly marine protection in the Antarctic. Previous roles include serving as News Director for The Last Ocean, Research Technician with US Antarctic Marine Living Resources, and various internships in science communication and writing. Educational credentials include a Master's in Marine Science, a Graduate Certificate in Science Communication, and a Bachelor's in Biology.
