Thomas Schmitt

Thomas Schmitt is a Senior Scientist at Honda Research Institute Europe GmbH since April 2022. Prior experience includes serving as a Research Associate and PhD-student at the Control Methods and Robotics Lab, TU Darmstadt from April 2018 to March 2022, focusing on Model Predictive Control Design for Energy Management of Heterogeneous Systems, as well as fulfilling teaching assistant roles. Thomas also worked as a Student Employee at Bosch Rexroth developing Industry 4.0 solutions, contributed as a Student Research Assistant at the Institute for Product Development and Machine Elements at TU Darmstadt, and programmed embedded systems during a tenure at Diehl Aviation. Earlier in career, Thomas was employed at Verbraucherzentrale Hessen e.V. and holds a Master of Science in Mechatronics with a specialization in Simulation and Control of Mechatronic Systems from Technische Universität Darmstadt, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics.
