Elise Ulwelling

Elise Ulwelling is a Human Behavior Data Research Engineer at Honda Research Institute USA, Inc. since October 2023, previously serving as a Human Centered Intelligence Intern. Elise has held roles as a Research Collaborator at San José State University Research Foundation, where key contributions included a literature review on well-being in automated vehicles and data collection for self-driving vehicle research. Previous experience also includes serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at LAVA Lab, where user preference research for Google was conducted, and performing thematic analysis and data collection as a Research Collaborator with Honda Research Institute. Prior roles include a Research Assistant at the University of California, Berkeley, where investigations focused on judgment and decision-making in the context of fairness and player behavior. Elise holds a Master of Science in Human Factors and Ergonomics from San Jose State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley.
