Lukas Rist

Lukas Rist is an experienced professional in information security and software engineering, currently serving as a Lecturer at Fachhochschule St Pölten since March 2023, focusing on deception technologies. As a Senior Engineering Manager at Vivino since November 2019, Lukas leads a cross-functional product team and has effectively managed organizational changes during challenging periods. Prior roles at Vivino include Lead Software Engineer, where Lucas built APIs for a vast user base, and Senior Software Engineer, contributing to backend system development. In addition to work at Vivino, Lukas has been the Chief Research Officer and a Full Member of The Honeynet Project since November 2009, enhancing the internet security community through research and development. Also, as a Director of the MushMush Foundation, Lukas created a web application honeypot utilized by multiple internet service providers. Additional experience includes positions at Corti, Symantec, Blue Coat Systems, NormanShark, DARPA, and a role as a visiting researcher at National Cheng Kung University, complemented by a strong educational background from RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau.
