Yewande Giwa

Yewande Giwa has a strong background in corporate governance and legal compliance. Yewande started their career as a Junior Associate at Banwo & Ighodalo in 2004. Yewande then worked as a Legal Officer at Zenon Petroleum & Gas Limited, where they managed legal research, litigation, and company secretarial duties. Yewande later joined Omital Nigeria Limited as a Legal Officer, facilitating communication with project contractors and providing legal advice on property matters. Yewande's most recent role was at Honeywell Group Limited, where they served as the Head of Governance & Sustainability, implementing governance frameworks and overseeing corporate governance compliance. Yewande also led the Company Secretariat unit, providing secretarial services and ensuring legal compliance for portfolio companies and their boards. Yewande has a reputation for expertise in regulatory compliance and is recognized as a pioneer in the sustainability/ESG field.

Yewande Giwa's education history begins with their obtaining a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from Obafemi Awolowo University, which they completed between 1997 and 2002. Yewande then pursued further studies at the Nigerian Law School, where they obtained a BL degree in Law in 2004. Yewande later attended the University of London, where they completed a Postgraduate Diploma and Postgraduate Certificate in International Business Law. Yewande also obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree specializing in Commercial & Corporate Law from the University of London. In 2020, Yewande completed an associate program at the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators Nigeria (ICSAN).
