Rick Piel

Rick Piel is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in advanced embedded systems, IoT engineering, and control systems. Currently serving as a Sr Advanced Embedded Engineer at Honeywell since June 2023, Rick has previously held key roles at Cytiva as a Senior IoT Engineer and at BMW Manufacturing Co., LLC as a Controls Engineer, where responsibilities included the installation of new equipment and safety matrix validation. Rick's expertise further includes a role as Lead Systems Engineer at GE Global Research, working on significant projects in microgrid controls and electric vehicle charging. Earlier positions include Senior Control Systems Engineer at O'Brien & Gere, Automation Specialist at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, and a long tenure at Albany International Corp., progressing from Electronic Technician to Senior Project Engineer. Rick holds an Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Hudson Valley Community College.
