Kevin Helfand has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Kevin started their career as an Analyst at the Ontario Securities Commission in 1998 before transitioning to become an Associate Lawyer at Macleod Dixon LLP. In 2002, they co-founded Collective Point of Sale Solutions (CPOS) and served as the Chief Operating Officer, helping the company grow to 80 employees with annual revenue of $12 million. CPOS was later acquired by Heartland Payment Systems and then Elavon Inc. In 2013, Helfand joined Elavon Inc. as the VP Direct Sales (Canada) and later became the President of DCBank in 2015.
In 2017, Helfand took on the role of Chief Operating Officer at 48North Cannabis Corp., where they led the company's transformation and guided it through a successful going public transaction and listing on the TSX Venture Exchange. Kevin then moved to Flow Alkaline Spring Water in 2021 as the Senior Vice President Legal, Head of Human Resources and Corporate Secretary. In this role, they played a key role in the company's subscription receipt financing and subsequent listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
Helfand also worked as a Strategic Advisor at EASICORP Limited, where they provided consulting services for governance assessments, mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Legal and Corporate Officer at HONK, a leading provider of self-serve, unattended payments for parking and mobility.
Kevin Helfand earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics & Psychology from the University of Toronto from 1987 to 1991. Kevin later pursued a combined program at the University of Alberta, where they earned a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Laws degree from 1992 to 1996.
