Halona Norton-Westbrook

Director at HONOLULU ACADEMY OF ARTS

Halona Norton-Westbrook has been a director at the HONOLULU ACADEMY OF ARTS since 2019. Prior to that, they were the Director of Curatorial Affairs and Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Toledo Museum of Art from 2013 to 2019. From 2010 to 2012, they were a Museum Leadership Trainee at the Garden Museum. Norton-Westbrook received their Graduate Research And Teaching Assistant from The University of Manchester in 2010 and their Graduate Curatorial Research Assistant from the Courtauld Institute of Art, U. of London in 2008. Halona also worked as the Curatorial and Administrative Coordinator at the Mills College Art Museum from 2005 to 2006.

Halona Norton-Westbrook completed the Getty Leadership Institute's Executive Education for Museum Leaders program in 2018. Halona holds a Doctor of Philosophy from The University of Manchester, a Master of Arts in Art Theirtory from the Courtauld Institute of Art at the University of London, and a Bachelor of Arts in Art and Theirtory from Mills College.
