Niels Oostveen

Niels Oostveen is an experienced hydrologist and hydrological data manager at Hoogheemraadschap van Schieland en de Krimpenerwaard since May 2021, providing policy advice on hydrology and data management. Niels previously held roles as a Young Expert in Water with Young Expert Programmes and as a Hydrogeologist/GIS specialist at WE Consult. Earlier experience includes research internships at Deltares, World Waternet, and TU Delft, focusing on hydrological modeling, soil dynamics, and scenario development. Niels holds a Master’s degree in Hydrology and Water Resources Science from Wageningen University & Research, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Land and Water Management. Prior to entering the field of water management, Niels worked as a mechanical technician at BluePrint Automation.
