Director, Recruitment at HOOPP

Laura Francis has extensive experience in recruitment and talent acquisition. Laura currently works at HOOPP as the Director of Recruitment, a role they have held since September 2021. Prior to this, they were a Senior Manager of Recruitment at HOOPP from July 2019 to September 2021. From June 2017 to July 2019, Laura held the position of Manager of Recruitment at HOOPP.

Before that, they worked as a Senior Sourcing Specialist from November 2012 to March 2014. In these positions, Laura was responsible for direct sourcing of talent and developing sourcing strategies.

Earlier in their career, Laura worked at Aviva Canada as a Senior Talent Acquisition Partner from October 2007 to September 2012. In this role, they were the lead recruiter for the Claims and Procurement unit and was involved in recruitment strategies and process improvements. Laura was also responsible for project recruitment, including a Succession Plan Project and the Aviva Canada Summer Student Program.

Laura started their career at Telus Communications Inc. as a Recruitment Manager in April 2007. Laura also worked at Hewitt Associates supporting BMO Financial Group as a Recruitment Specialist from October 2004 to December 2006.

Laura Francis attended Ryerson University from 2008 to 2011, where they studied Human Resources Management but did not obtain a degree. Laura then attended Georgian College, where they obtained a Diploma in Marketing and Advertising. Additionally, Laura attended Ball State University where they studied Psychology and Sociology, although the dates of their attendance are unknown.

In terms of certifications, Laura obtained a Black Belt Certification (BB) from SocialTalent in July 2021. Laura also completed the "Mastering the Art of Management Sustainment Program" at Queen's University Smith School of Business in April 2021. Furthermore, Laura obtained a certification in "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Building a Diverse Workforce" from eCornell in June 2023.
