Hopatcong Board of Education
James McKowen is an experienced educator and professional with a diverse background in mathematics and technology education. Currently a Math, STEAM, and Computer Science Teacher at Hopatcong Board of Education since September 2014, James has developed a STEAM program for grades 6 to 8 while also teaching middle school math and Algebra 1. Additionally, James serves as the Director of Career and Technical Education at Garden State Esports since July 2021, alongside a longstanding role as a Repair Technician at Best Buy, which began in August 2014. Previous positions include teaching math at the School District of the Chathams and Kinnelon High School, and working as a Sales Associate at RadioShack. James holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and Teaching with a focus on Mathematics from Rider University, obtained in 2006.
